Daniel J. McNamara, S.J., Ph.D.
Fr. McNamara is the current Chairperson of the Physics Department of the Ateneo de Manila University and Director of the Manila Observatory. A respected educator and scientist, his recent interests include lasers and LIDAR, cloud and atmospheric pollution monitoring, and ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC). He is also a much sought after speaker on science and society, religion and ethics.
He has a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Fordham University , an MS Physics from the Ateneo de Manila University and a PhD in Astro-Geophysics from the University of Colorado .
